Women of the Sun continued their mission in Belgium through a series of diplomatic, political, and civil-society meetings aimed at strengthening women’s leadership and ensuring that the voices of women from Palestine reach decision-making spaces.

‏As part of the advocacy week, the delegation held important meetings with Ambassador Karen Van Vlierberge, Ambassador of Belgium to Palestine; Ambassador Jean-Louis Thill, Ambassador of Luxembourg; and Dr. Naďa Kovalčíková from WIIS Brussels. The discussions focused on enhancing international cooperation and supporting women’s leadership roles in civil and political spheres.

‏Women of the Sun also met with several prominent European officials, including Hélène Le Gal, Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the European External Action Service; Aude Maio-Coliche, the EU Ambassador for Gender; and Chloé Ridel, Deputy Director-General for Neighborhood and Middle East at the European Commission. The delegation continued constructive dialogue with Ambassador Van Vlierberge and Ambassador Thill on ways the EU and its member states can strengthen women’s leadership, community resilience, and civic initiatives.

‏The visit also included participation in closed-door meetings with Commissioner Hadja Lahbib, Ms. Hélène Le Gal, and Aude Maio-Coliche, as well as bilateral consultations with senior policy advisers, including Christine O’Dwyer and Max Albares.
