Exploring Animal Biodiversity in the West Bank – Environmental Awareness Workshop Series
We continued the implementation of the “Environmental Awareness Workshops: Bridging the Gap between Science and Policy” series, supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
The second workshop focused on exploring animal biodiversity in the West Bank, highlighting the richness of wildlife, the diversity of species and habitats, and the ecological relationships that form an essential part of Palestinian ecosystems.
The workshop also addressed the importance of insects and their role in ecosystem functioning, with particular attention to invasive insect species and their potential impacts on local ecosystems.
The workshop provided a valuable space for dialogue and knowledge exchange among participants, emphasizing that biodiversity conservation cannot be the responsibility of one sector alone. It requires collaboration among government institutions, local authorities, experts, civil society organizations, youth, and local communities.
