Women of the Sun Workshop: Transforming Recycled Materials into Sustainable Green Spaces

As part of the project “Empowering Women, Securing the Future: Sustainable Solutions for a Greener, More Equal, and Food-Secure World,” funded by Slovenian Government we held a workshop at the Women of the Sun Association to explore innovative ways to transform our environment, learning how even recycled materials can be turned into beautiful and sustainable green spaces.

We rolled up our sleeves and planted a variety of plants at the entrance of the building, along the staircase, and even in recycled tires, turning car byproducts into eco-friendly planters. Each plant became a small symbol of care for the environment, creativity, resilience, and hope.

We also experimented with horizontal agriculture using tubes, discovering innovative approaches to urban gardening and sustainable green building.

These plants are more than decoration — they are stories, lessons, and a promise to nurture a greener, more sustainable world for generations to come.

ضمن مشروع “تمكين النساء، وتأمين المستقبل: حلول مستدامة لعالم أكثر خضرة ومساواة وأمناً غذائياً”، الممول من حكومة سلوفانيا نظمنا اليوم ورشة عمل في جمعية “نساء الشمس” لاستكشاف طرق مبتكرة لتحويل بيئتنا، وتعلمنا كيف يمكن حتى للمواد المعاد تدويرها أن تتحول إلى مساحات خضراء جميلة ومستدامة.

شمرنا عن سواعدنا وزرعنا مجموعة متنوعة من النباتات عند مدخل المبنى، وعلى طول الدرج، وحتى في الإطارات المعاد تدويرها، محولين مخلفات السيارات إلى أحواض صديقة للبيئة. كل نبتة أصبحت رمزًا صغيرًا للعناية بالبيئة، وإبداعًا، وصمودًا، وأملًا.

كما جربنا الزراعة الأفقية باستخدام الأنابيب، مستكشفين أساليب مبتكرة للزراعة الحضرية والبناء الأخضر المستدام.

هذه النباتات أكثر من مجرد زينة — إنها قصص ودروس ووعد برعاية عالم أخضر ومستدام للأجيال القادمة
