As part of Palestinian Heritage Week, we met with Ms. Hajar Abo Amoos, who spoke about the history of Palestinian heritage and the importance of Palestinian embroidery as an essential part of our national identity and historical memory, carrying the stories of our ancestors and reflecting the authenticity of our past.

She emphasized the importance of preserving this cultural heritage and passing it on from one generation to the next, especially to young people. She also highlighted its role in supporting the Palestinian economy by promoting traditional crafts and empowering local artisans.

We also learned about examples of traditional dress (Thoube) related with the heritage of Bethlehem and their historical and cultural significance.

     أسبوع التراث الفلسطيني… هوية وأصالة وانتماء

ضمن فعاليات أسبوع التراث الفلسطيني، التقينا بالسيدة هاجر ابو عموص، التي تحدثت عن تاريخ التراث الفلسطيني وأهمية التطريز الفلسطيني باعتباره جزءًا أصيلًا من هويتنا الوطنية وذاكرتنا التاريخية، يحمل بين خيوطه حكايات الأجداد وأصالة الماضي.

وأكدت على أهمية الحفاظ على هذا الموروث الثقافي ونقله من جيل إلى جيل، وخاصة إلى فئة الشباب، إلى جانب دوره في دعم الاقتصاد الفلسطيني من خلال تشجيع الحرف التقليدية وتمكين الحرفيين والحرفيات.

كما تعرّفنا على نماذج من الثوب القديم المرتبط بتراث مدينة بيت لحم، وما يحمله من قيمة تاريخية وثقافية
