Seeds of Hope Camp: Children Explore Recycling, Creativity and Inclusion

On the second day of the Seeds of Hope Camp, we had brought together children with special needs for a hands-on day focused on recycling, reusing, creativity, and natural materials. The children recycled old candles and created new ones incorporating rosemary and lavender essential oils, while also transforming leftover soap into new lavender-infused soap using natural and locally available ingredients. Through these activities, the children explored how materials can be recycled and reused rather than discarded, while enjoying a creative and inclusive learning experience.

Most importantly, the second day continued the camp’s message of hope, inclusion, creativity, and empowerment- showing that every child no matter his special needs is has the right to learn, create, and contribute.

في اليوم الثاني من مخيم بذور الأمل ، اجتمعنا مع الأطفال ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في يوم عملي وتفاعلي ركّز على إعادة التدوير، والإبداع، والاستفادة من المواد الطبيعية

قام الأطفال بإعادة تدوير الشموع القديمة وصناعة شموع جديدة باستخدام إكليل الجبل (الروزماري) والخزامى (اللافندر)، كما عملوا على تحويل بقايا الصابون إلى صابون جديد معزّز بالخزامى، باستخدام مكونات طبيعية ومتوفرة محليًا. ومن خلال هذه الأنشطة، تعرّف الأطفال على كيفية إعادة تدوير المواد وإعادة استخدامها بدلًا من التخلص منها، واستمتعوا في الوقت نفسه بتجربة تعليمية إبداعية وشاملة.

والأهم من ذلك، واصل اليوم الثاني رسالة المخيم في الأمل والدمج والإبداع والتمكين، مؤكدًا أن لكل طفل، مهما كانت احتياجاته الخاصة، الحق في التعلم والإبداع والمشاركة والمساهمة.
