Women of the Sun Brings Palestinian Women’s Voices to International Leaders
As part of Women of the Sun’s
efforts to amplify Palestinian women’s voices in international spaces, Reem Al-Hajajreh, Founder and Chairwoman of Women of the Sun, took part in a number of international engagements, including a meeting with Harriet Harman, UK Special Envoy for Women and Girls, and a meeting with Ambassador Melanne Verveer, Executive Director of the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security and the first U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues.
During these engagements, Reem shared firsthand insights and updates on the realities facing Palestinian women, Women of the Sun’s work, and the importance of strengthening women’s leadership and participation in decision-making.
These meetings provided an important opportunity to bring Palestinian women’s voices and experiences to international leaders and decision-makers, while highlighting their needs and priorities.
في إطار جهود نساء الشمس لتعزيز حضور أصوات النساء الفلسطينيات في المحافل الدولية، شاركت ريم الحجاجرة، مؤسسة ورئيسة مجلس إدارة نساء الشمس، في عدد من اللقاءات الدولية، من بينها اجتماع مع هارييت هارمن، المبعوثة الخاصة للمملكة المتحدة لشؤون المرأة والفتيات، ولقاء مع السفيرة ميلان فيرفير (Melanne Verveer)، المديرة التنفيذية لمعهد جورجتاون للمرأة والأمن، وأول سفيرة أمريكية متجولة للقضايا العالمية للمرأة.
شاركت ريم خلال هذه اللقاءات رؤى وتحديثات من الميدان حول واقع النساء الفلسطينيات، وتجربة نساء الشمس، وأهمية تعزيز دور المرأة في القيادة وصنع القرار.
وشكلت هذه اللقاءات فرصة مهمة لإيصال أصوات وتجارب النساء الفلسطينيات إلى القيادات وصنّاع القرار الدوليين، وتسليط الضوء على احتياجاتهن وأولوياتهن.
